“四海兄弟”のスローガンを掲げ、世界へ打って出ようと思ったとたんのコロナだったわけですが、今やネットがあれば世界に繋がることができますし、今週もコツコツと続けます！

『絵巻水滸伝』の好漢のあだ名の英訳は、パール・バックの訳を基礎に、絵巻オリジナルを加えています。

White Spotted Adder「ホワイト スポッティッド アダー」

“Adder”が毒蛇だと分かれば、すぐに「地隠星　白花蛇　楊春」とピンときますね。

“白まだらの毒蛇”です。

“Adder”はヨーロッパクサリヘビやマムシなどの毒蛇のこと。

“poisonous snake”より、猛毒な感じがします。

ためしにヨーロッパクサリヘビを画像検索したら……こわい！閲覧注意ですよ。

それにしても、陳達＆楊春、コンビであだ名が長いですね。

もう“ティガー＆ホワイティ”でどうですか。

いやドイツ語で揃えるなら“ヴァイス（白）”、いや“シュランゲ（蛇）”？

“ティガーundシュランゲ”……だんだんと別の世界になっていきますが、なんとなくカッコイイ。

こうして、いろいろな言語で考えてみるのも楽しいですね！

He and all the troops from the fortress on Mount Little-Flower died in the battle of the Shiny Horn barrier during the Dark Guru War.
